Continental Infrastructure Group is seeking an experienced Field Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our Equipment Division. Our mechanics play a critical role in keeping our operations moving by maintaining and repairing the equipment that builds infrastructure, utilities, marine projects, and mining operations throughout Southwest Florida.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy construction equipment in the field.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on a variety of equipment.
  • Repair hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, brake, steering, and undercarriage systems.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns at active job sites.
  • Complete inspections and identify potential mechanical issues before failures occur.
  • Utilize diagnostic software and electronic service tools when applicable.
  • Document repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used.
  • Maintain service truck inventory and ensure tools and equipment remain organized.
  • Communicate repair status with Equipment Management and field operations.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA/MSHA requirements.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of heavy equipment repair experience preferred.
  • Strong hydraulic, diesel engine, electrical, and drivetrain troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience reading service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.
